Discover Umai Sun Princess Teppanyaki Review Dining Delight
Umai - Sun Princess Teppanyaki Review
We recently sailed the Sun Princess to the Mediterranean. Thanks to the premier package, we tried 6 of the 7 specialty restaurants onboard. On our last night, we visited Umai, the Teppanyaki restaurant on the Sun Princess. This restaurant also has hot pot, which we tried earlier in the trip. Both were excellent.
I need to apologize, I took a picture of the menu, but didn’t notice it was blurry! I did not focus on this simple task. However, I got pics of almost everything I ate. laughing, drinking, and making new friends, and a fun video of my husband trying his hand at catching an egg with a spatula. So let’s start!
Before I discuss the food, the main event at Umai was Victor, our chef. Victor is from the Philippines. As he likes to say, he is the best Japanese Chef from the Philippines. He was so much fun! I laughed, ate, drank, and had the best time. Our table was so much fun! I have done teppanyaki so many times over the year. However, this was a very fun take on it. I already booked it again for next August on the Sun.
Appetizers
Everyone starts with Edamame and Miso Soup. I love both and quickly finished them both.

We had mochi for dessert. It’s not my favorite, but it’s ok, I was so full I could not have eaten it anyway.
Overall, we loved this dining experience. I almost cancelled it, we were tired and I felt Teppanyaki had been done, but I am so glad we went. It ended up being one of my favorite meals on the cruise. The manager Mark had the best vibe and really set the evening up for fun. Our assistant waiters kept our drinks flowing. It was definitely a night to remember. I could tell everyone at our table had fun.
