Norway Fjord Cruise for $1300 — Flights, Hotels & Cruise

We booked a 7-night Norway Fjord Cruise with Princess for less than $1300 — and that included flights to Europe, hotel stays in London, and onboard credit. Thanks to a casino offer and strategic use of points and miles, we turned a bucket-list European cruise into an affordable adventure. From sailing past waterfalls and fjords to exploring London on Hyatt points, this trip was a perfect blend of luxury and travel hacking. Here’s exactly how we did it — and how you can too.

🎰 Princess Casino Offer Explained

Thanks to points and a casino deal we booked this epic adventure. I received a casino offer from Princess Cruises for spending time in the casino on my May 2024 sailing on the Enchanted Princess. I have been receiving offers for interior cabins on Princess with $50 free play pretty much nonstop.

When I book a cruise through a casino offer, the base fare for my interior cabin is waived — meaning the room itself is free. I still pay taxes and port fees, plus a $200 deposit that’s refunded as onboard credit once we’re on the ship. For example, our Norway Fjord Cruise with Princess cost $620 upfront, but we received $400 back as onboard credit. That brought our net cost down to just $220 for a 7-night European cruise. It’s one of the best travel hacks we’ve used.

✈️ Flights to London Using Points

The Norway Cruise left from Southampton, UK. We flew from Nashville to London. To do this, we got plane tickets on miles. We used 65,000 points and $75 to fly to London from Nashville. To fly home from the UK, we used 60,000 American Express membership rewards and $300 each in taxes. Flights from London to the US always have high taxes. However, this was still a great deal. We flew round-trip to the UK for $675 for two people.

🏨 Free Hyatt Hotel Stays in London

After our cruise, we spent a day in London before heading back to the States. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Blackfriars. This was a beautiful hotel. The hotel staff was amazing and the location was fantastic. We were about a mile away from Parliament Square. We took a beautiful walk along the Thames and visited Trafalgar Square and the Churchill War Rooms. We booked our room here also on points. I even had a club access award to use, so we took advantage of their evening reception with complimentary drinks and appetizers. The cost for this hotel was 17,000 Hyatt points.

🚐 Transfers & Excursion Planning

We need to get to Southampton on the day of our cruise. I booked our transfer with Viator. I like using Viator since you can pay closer to the time of the trip.

🛳️ Norway Fjord Cruise Itinerary & Ports

We sailed 7 days on the Sky Princess. Our trip was the first week of August. We were scheduled for 4 ports for this cruise. However, we ended up missing a port due to a storm. We missed our port in Olden. Of course, we were sad we had booked a fun hike to a glacier. My son and I were both looking forward to it. On a positive note, the company we used, Olden Adventures, sent us a message saying they had notice we would not be in port the day of our excursions. We would receive a refund for our excursion. We had it before we even left the ship.

We did make the following ports: Click the port name to learn more about excursions:

Haugesand - We visited a Viking Farm. I chose this one for my dad specifically. After searching his ancestry, we knew he had Viking blood. I thought he would enjoy seeing what life was like for his ancestors. I was right!

Skjolden - This is a charming village. We ended up exploring on foot. If I had known we would not be going to Olden, I would have booked a RIB tour for my son and me. They were sold out way in advance; this was not an option at this point. We did enjoy a beautiful walk around the area.

Stavenger - We booked a boat ride through the Fjords to Pulput rock. It was a fun day and perfect for our multi-generational group. I would do it again.
