🌸 Sun Princess Thermal Spa Guide (2026)
Everything Inside, What It Costs, and Whether It’s Worth It

✨ Quick Overview
The Sun Princess Thermal Spa is hands-down the most impressive thermal suite I’ve ever experienced at sea. It’s huge, beautifully designed, and packed with features that make it easy to spend hours inside without realizing how much time has passed. I visited multiple days during our cruise — and every time I walked in, it felt like stepping into my own private sanctuary.
Even my husband joined me for a couple of sessions, and he walked out looking like he had achieved inner peace.
If you want a broader look at how thermal suites work across cruise lines, check out my thermal spa guide. And if you’re comparing ships, I also reviewed the Majestic Princess spa.

💰 Thermal Suite Pricing (2026)
Princess recently increased the price of the thermal suite:
Current price:$199 for a 7‑day cruise
Previous price: $149
Sale price I snagged: $99 (I booked instantly — no hesitation)
If you ever see the Sun Princess thermal suite drop below $149, grab it. Prices have been trending upward, and sales are rare.
Spa access is not included in Princess Plus or Premier, so this is a separate purchase.
🏝️ A Huge, Beautiful Thermal Suite (Even Without Windows)
One thing that surprised me: the Sun Princess thermal suite is massive — genuinely one of the largest I’ve seen on a mainstream cruise line. It’s an internal room with no windows, but Princess designed it so thoughtfully that it still feels calm, warm, and beautiful.
Soft lighting, warm tones, and the glow from the heated loungers make the space feel spa‑luxurious rather than enclosed. I never once felt boxed in or claustrophobic. If anything, the lack of windows made it feel more private and cocoon‑like — perfect for long relaxation sessions.
And trust me… I loved visiting.
🌊 What’s Inside the Sun Princess Thermal Suite
🛏️ Eight Heated Loungers
Eight. Heated. Loungers. This is unheard of on mainstream cruise lines and makes a huge difference. Even on sea days, I never struggled to find one.
They’re warm (not scorching), perfectly contoured, and ideal for:
Lazy Girl spa rituals
Post-port recovery
Quiet reading, journaling, or just zoning out
I spent hours here. Zero regrets.
💧 Massive Therapy Pool
This pool is the star of the show. It’s huge — bigger than anything I’ve seen on Princess, Carnival, or MSC.
Warm water, powerful jets, and enough space to float without bumping into anyone. I went in morning, afternoon, and evening. It’s that good.
🔥 Three Steam Experiences
You get three distinct rooms:
Hot Steam Room — honestly too hot for me, but steam lovers will thrive
Salt Room — gentle, soothing, and surprisingly comfortable even with high blood pressure
Eucalyptus Medium Steam — my favorite; warm, aromatic, and perfect for deep breathing
🚿 Experience Showers
Three showers with massage‑style spray patterns. Great between steam sessions and surprisingly strong water pressure.
❄️ Cool Room
A chilled space to reset your body temperature. No cool towels here (Princess, please add them!), but still refreshing.
🧘♀️ How Many Days I Used It
I spent several days in the thermal suite — long sessions, short sessions, everything in between. Brandon joined me for a couple of visits and walked out looking like he had achieved inner peace.
💅 What About Spa Treatments?
I also booked:
A massage
A mani/pedi
And I grabbed a photo of the full spa menu with prices (which is very hard to find online)
These will be covered in Post #2: Sun Princess Spa Menu + Treatment Prices (2026).

🧘♀️ What I Bring for My Spa Day
I always bring my Patchology Travel Facial Kit on every cruise — it’s perfect for a quick refresh after the thermal suite or before dinner. Lightweight, TSA‑friendly, and makes me feel like I’m getting a mini spa moment in my cabin.
If you’re packing for your sailing, my Ultimate Cruise Packing List has everything I bring for spa days, port days, and sea days.
🧭 Who This Thermal Suite Is Best For
Spa lovers
Couples wanting quiet time
Anyone who needs recovery after long port days
Travelers who love heated loungers (this is the best setup at sea)
People who want a quiet escape from the busy ship
Anyone who enjoys a cocoon‑like, private spa environment
📝 Final Verdict
The Sun Princess Thermal Spa is absolutely worth it — even at the new $199 price point. The loungers, the therapy pool, the steam rooms, the salt room, the cool room… everything feels elevated and thoughtfully designed. If you’re a spa lover or just want a quiet retreat during your cruise, this is one of the best thermal suites at sea. And if you ever catch it on sale like I did, book it immediately.
