Princess Cruises Package Changes - Breakdown Here

Princess Cruises Package Changes

Whoa, when I thought I had everything figured out about the Princess Cruises Package, they go and change again! These posts reflect the changes made in July of 2025. I still think my advice on whether to get the Plus Package stands. You can read that here. However, I thought it would be important to let you know what changed. Below is a chart provided by Princess Cruises with what you can expect on sailings after January 12, 2026.

Price

First, the prices of both the plus and premium packages increased. The Plus Package went from $60 to $65 a day per guest. The Premium Package also increased to $100 from $90 a day. These prices are not fleetwide. If you are sailing a Sphere class ship (Sun & Star), you will be paying $70 a day for the Plus Package and $105 for the Premium Package. Again, these prices are per day per guest.

Drinks

The premium package still has unlimited drinks up to $20. This includes: cocktails, wine, beer, alcohol, fountain drinks, and non-alcoholic cocktails. If you have the plus package, you have a limit of 15 of these.

After some public outcry, they did make the following adjustments:

Both packages have unlimited specialty coffee and tea.

Both packages have 12 bottles of water a day.

Casual Dining Meals

The Princess Plus package increased the number of casual dining meals to 4 per cruise instead of 2. The premium stays the same at unlimited.

Shore Excursion Credit

The Princess Premier Package now includes a new shore excursion credit based on voyage length—$100 (6–9 days), $200 (10–20 days), and up to $300 for voyages of 21+ days

What is missing?

Premium desserts and fitness classes are gone. I had only gotten one premium dessert in all my Princess Cruises. So I will not miss this one bit. As for the fitness classes, I hadn’t tried those either.

Conclusion

I still think these can be a fantastic deal. We are sailing on the Sun in September 2025, and I have purchased the Premium Package. I won’t always get them after all, I am a budget traveler. It will definitely depend on who I am traveling with on the cruise.
