Colorado Ski Trips with Points & Miles

Why Colorado Ski Trips Are the Ultimate Points Redemption

Colorado’s world‑class ski resorts—Aspen, Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone—are bucket‑list destinations. But lift tickets, hotels, and flights can add up fast. I always say skiing is definitely not a poor man’s sport. With the right strategy, you can turn credit card rewards, airline miles, and hotel points into a luxury ski vacation for less. Our family loves to ski this is how we save big on our ski trips.

Flights to Colorado with Points & Miles

United MileagePlus: Strong hub in Denver, perfect for ski travelers. This year, we are flying home on United. I had some United Miles from a sign-up bonus we used to fly four of us from Denver to Nashville.

Rapid Rewards: With my Southwest credit card, we will get free bags. I am a carry-on girl for my trips, but skiing requires bulky clothing. I have to check my bags for this trip. Southwest Rapid Rewards Card Review👉 Southwest Rapid Rewards Priority Card

Hotels & Ski Lodges with Points

  • Hyatt: While our family loves Park Hyatt Beaver Creek for skiing, it is way more economical for us to stay at the Hyatt Place Keystone. Both are great uses of points. Not only is Keystone cheaper in points, but everything is cheaper in Keystone, such as food, rentals, etc.

Ski Passes & Resort Hacks

  • Epic Pass + Ikon Pass discounts when booked with resort credit cards. We buy our Epic Passes every year when they are released. We buy a 4-day pass excluding holidays to save money. It is not cheap, so I usually try to use this purchase toward a sign-up bonus.

Packing Essentials for Colorado Ski Trips

  • Waterproof ski jacket, insulated gloves, thermal layers.

  • Quick‑dry pants for après‑ski comfort.

Tips for Maximizing Points

  • Book flights early for peak ski season (December–March).

  • Use transferable points (Chase, Amex, Citi) for flexibility 👉 Credit Card Transfer Partners

  • Stack benefits: airline miles + hotel points + Sapphire Reserve credits.
