Why I Cruise Carnival Once a Year (My Honest Lazy Girl Take)

Princess Cruises is currently my happy place — the quiet corners, the ocean views, the spa days, the cozy vibe. It’s the cruise line where I feel most at home. If you want to see exactly why Princess is my comfort cruise line, check out my Princess Cruise Hub.

But once a year? I hop on the Fun Ship.

Carnival is fun in a way that’s hard to explain unless you’ve done it. It’s loud, it’s colorful, it’s affordable, and it’s full of stories you’ll be telling for years. Like last year on the Conquest when a guy passed out drunk in the buffet and absolutely refused to get up. He was fine — just done. Was it dramatic? Yes. Did Mary and I live for the story? Also yes.

This year’s Halloween cruise started as a simple trip for me and my travel‑agent bestie, Mary. Then we talked my parents into going. Then Mary talked her mom, sister, brother‑in‑law, and niece into joining. Suddenly we had a whole Halloween crew — and because Carnival is super affordable, especially with casino rates, everyone could come.

We’ve sailed the Carnival Magic and loved it. We’ve sailed the Carnival Conquest and loved the Halloween décor. Was it my best cruise ever? No. Did I have fun? Absolutely yes.

Carnival is my once‑a‑year “let’s make memories and laugh until we cry” cruise line — and this hub is where I keep every Carnival tip, review, deal, and Lazy Girl system I actually use.

💸 Lazy Girl Ways to Save Money on Carnival

Carnival is one of the easiest cruise lines to save money on — especially with casino deals. These posts walk through exactly how I book balcony cabins for under $500, how I get casino emails, and how I stack offers.

🧋 Lazy Girl Coffee Hacks (Carnival Edition)

Carnival coffee is… Carnival coffee. On the Magic, I didn’t enjoy it — not even the specialty drinks. On the Conquest, it was better… but still not Lazy Girl happy place level.

So this year, I’m using my Lazy Girl Coffee Travel Hack — the same one I use on land and on any cruise line where the coffee doesn’t spark joy.

I’m not brewing espresso in the cabin. I use hot water from the buffet or spa and make my own iced coffee without the drink package.
