Dining Tips, What to Order & Full Reviews

Virgin Voyages does dining differently — no buffets, no main dining room, and no up‑charges for specialty restaurants. Everything is included, and the food is genuinely some of the best at sea. This guide breaks down how dining works, how to make reservations, and what to order at every restaurant on board.

How Dining Works on Virgin Voyages

Virgin Voyages includes all specialty dining in your cruise fare — fresh ingredients, made‑to‑order dishes, and restaurant‑quality meals. Most restaurants are available on all four ships.

Reservation Tips for Virgin Voyages Restaurants

Reservations open:

  • 60 days before sailing for Rockstars

  • 45 days before sailing for all other sailors

They usually go live at midnight ET.

If you forget or don’t get what you want, don’t panic — Virgin holds back reservations for embarkation day. Once onboard, connect to Wi‑Fi and check the app. You can also stop by Razzle Dazzle for help.

Full Reviews of Each Restaurant

Virgin Voyages has six main restaurants: The Wake, Razzle Dazzle, Test Kitchen, Extra Virgin, Gunbae, and Pink Agave. I’ve tried them all — and each one brings something different to the table.

The Wake

Filet Mignon at the Wake

My full review of the Wake

What to order:

  • Filet mignon

  • Twice‑baked potatoes

  • Clam chowder

  • Raw oysters (extra charge, but worth it with sailor loot)

Razzle Dazzle

Razzle Dazzle review (coming soon)

Best for brunch:

  • Chicken & waffles

  • Acai bowl

  • Avo toast

  • Bacon (trust me)

Test Kitchen

Test Kitchen Review

This is the most adventurous dining onboard — a set menu with rotating themes. There are always vegetarian and non‑vegetarian versions.

What to expect:

  • Multi‑course tasting menu

  • Creative dishes

  • A “try it once” experience

Extra Virgin

Pasta Bolgonese Extra Virgin

Extra Virgin Review

Fresh pasta, great wine, and the best affogato at sea.

What to order:

  • Half portions of pasta (try multiple!)

  • Red wine

  • Tableside affogato with whiskey ice cream + espresso + chocolate chips
