🏰 Dover Castle (White Cliffs + props = kid heaven)
Dover Castle is one of those places that looks huge and historic from the outside… and then you get inside and realize it’s basically a giant playground for kids who love props, costumes, and interactive exhibits.
My boys LOVED the interactive photos and castle props — helmets, shields, medieval gear, all the things kids go feral for. It made the whole day feel fun and hands‑on.

👑 Windsor Castle (Henry VIII + Queen Elizabeth II)
We did Windsor on our own, and it was so easy — quick train ride, short walk, and suddenly you’re standing inside one of the most historic royal sites in the world.
Henry VIII is buried here. Queen Elizabeth II is buried here now too.
And here’s the fun twist: We took our kids right after the coronation of King Charles III — even though we booked the trip way before the coronation was ever announced. The timing was wild, and the kids thought it was the coolest thing ever.
