Cruise Cabin Essentials - Light Packer Edition
After being a never cruiser for 20+ years, I have recently found that I love Cruising. Last year, I booked 8 cruises, and I have 9 booked for 2025. I love traveling and plan elaborate trips for my family. However, sometimes it is nice to relax and have someone plan everything for you.
Here are my Cruise Cabin Essentials:

My Cruise Fan
I carry this on all my cruises. It is small and fits in my hand. I usually travel with a travel backpack, so everything I carry has to fit in my backpack and not take up a lot of space. This fan is great for white noise. It also provides some cool air, which is perfect for this middle-aged woman.
2. Cruise Approved Power Strip (non-surge)
I usually have more devices than outlets in my cruise cabin. You have to make sure you choose a power strip that is cruise compliant, like the one below. When I travel on Princess Cruises, sometimes they only have two outlets. This small power strip goes on all my cruises. It comes in handy when traveling with someone with a CPAP, phones, kindles etc.
3. Magnetic Hooks
These are great to have the room. I hang my lanyard on them. I use them to dry bathing suits. I can also hang my fan above on them. They are very versatile and love finding uses for them to keep things off our limited cabinet space in our room.
4. Poo-Poorri -
Cruise Cabins are small— that’s all I need to say about this. However, if you room with a teenage boy you will thank me!
