Thanks to a long holiday weekend, we spent 3 days in Toronto. We had never been to Toronto. Over the past year, I have run into many people from Toronto. Thanks to a quick direct flight from Nashville decided to explore our neighbors to North. We are so glad we did.
To make the most of our recent holiday weekend, we flew West Jet from Nashville after work one afternoon. The 90-minute flight was shorter than a movie. When we arrived at the airport, we quickly went through immigration and were hopping into a taxi in no time. The taxi from the airport to our hotel in the Entertainment district of Toronto was 70 (CAD). We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Toronto.

Where We Stayed: Hyatt Regency Toronto Review
We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Toronto for three nights and loved the location. It’s right in the Entertainment District, walking distance to the CN Tower, St. Lawrence Market, and tons of restaurants. The rooms were clean and modern, with great city views and comfy beds—perfect for crashing after long days of exploring. I booked our stay using points, which made it even sweeter. If you're visiting Toronto for a quick getaway, this hotel checks all the boxes for convenience, comfort, and value.

We hit the local coffee house/bakery French Made each morning. It was around the corner from our hotel. I could even see from our window. I wish I could say I was more adventurous, but their blueberry scone made me so happy. I never tried anything else. I paired this a sweetened condensed milk latte. Yum!
Day 1: St. Lawrence Market + Beer History Tour
Our first day, we explored on our own in the morning. We headed to the amazing St Lawerence Market and explored. This was a fabulous international market. We had so much fun exploring everything! We even left with some Ukrainian Sausage that my husband had for breakfast the next morning.

Day 2: Niagara Falls Day Trip from Toronto
Our 2nd day was a long one! We booked a big bus tour to Niagara Falls. I am not a fan of big bus tours, but this one had everything I wanted to do on it, so we took a chance. You can find the tour we booked here. Since I had never been to Niagara Falls, this was a great way to get everything in. We visited a winery, the falls, had lunch provided, and then went to Niagara-on-the-Lake. It was a long day. I'm glad we did it, but I would do it differently if we had the chance to go back. I explain more in my tour review -> Niagara Falls Day Trip
Day 3: Royal Ontario Museum + Auschwitz Exhibit
For our final day in Toronto, my husband got to choose the activity—and I pretended to be surprised when he picked a museum. Just kidding! After 21 years of marriage, I knew he’d go straight for the Royal Ontario Museum. Our whole family loves museums and learning, so this was a perfect fit.
The museum was about a 40-minute walk from our hotel, and since we love exploring cities on foot, it was an easy stroll. We had reservations for the limited-time Auschwitz exhibit at 1 PM, but got a late start and grabbed lunch nearby before diving in.
If this exhibit is still showing when you visit, I highly recommend it. And trust me—use the audio guide. I usually hate audio guides, but this one was phenomenal. I listened to every word. Brandon skipped a few sections and missed some powerful stories, so I ended up explaining parts to him afterward.
Just a heads-up: it’s emotional. I wasn’t the only one crying in there. But it’s one of the most moving museum experiences I’ve ever had, and I’m so glad we made time for it.
Final Thoughts + What I’d Do Differently
Overall, we had the best time in Toronto. We would love to go back and take our boys. We walked everywhere and I felt very safe. I would solo-travel to Toronto in a heartbeat.
