🌙 Why We Chose Hyatt Place Fresno

Hyatt Place Fresno Front Desk

Front desk Hyatt Place Fresno

We flew into Fresno late on a Friday night and needed an easy, reliable place to crash before tackling Sequoia National Park the next morning. Hyatt Place Fresno fit the bill perfectly — clean, convenient, and only 15–20 minutes from the airport.

We arrived around 11 p.m. and were lucky to snag one of the last parking spots. After a long travel day, that felt like a win.

If you’re planning this trip too, here’s our full Yosemite itinerary to help you map out your days.

🌲 A Great “Split Stay” for Sequoia + Yosemite

Our itinerary looked like this:

  • Day 1: Sequoia National Park

  • Days 2–4: Yosemite National Park

Hyatt Place Fresno worked beautifully as our arrival-night hotel before the long drive to Sequoia. After that, we moved to The Inn at Oakhurstto cut down our Yosemite drive time — and I’m so glad we did. With California gas prices being what they are, staying closer saved us time and money.

If you’re planning a similar trip, this setup is ideal.

🛏️ Room Layout: Why Hyatt Place Works So Well for Families

We love Hyatt Place because the layout just works for families with older kids:

  • Two queen beds

  • A separate sleeper sofa

  • Space for teens who absolutely will not share a bed

Our room was clean and comfortable, though it ran warmer than we prefer, even with the thermostat turned down. The lobby was nice and cool, so this was likely just our room. We were too tired to ask for help — that one’s on us.

Breakfast & Coffee Bar

We didn’t take advantage of the free breakfast since we were already on the road to Sequoia before sunrise, but it looked like the classic Hyatt Place spread — including waffles, which my youngest would have been thrilled about.

The coffee and tea bar was well stocked, which is always appreciated before a national park day.

🍽️ Restaurant Closed on Saturdays

One thing to note: the on‑site restaurant is closed on Saturdays. We had planned to eat dinner there after Sequoia, but ended up grabbing food elsewhere. Not a dealbreaker, but good to know if you’re arriving late or coming back tired and hungry.

🎉 Value: A Perfect Use of Hyatt Free Night Certificates

This stay was a fantastic use of two Hyatt Free Night Certificates. Clean, convenient, and exactly what we needed for a quick overnight before a big adventure.

If you want to earn free Hyatt nights too, here’s our beginner credit card strategy that makes it easy.

I originally considered staying here for the entire trip, but I’m glad I pivoted to stay closer to Yosemite. Cutting down the daily drive time was absolutely worth it.

If you’re working toward Hyatt’s Brand Explorer perk, this stay counted toward ours — here’s how Hyatt Brand Explorer works.

Final Thoughts

Hyatt Place Fresno is:

  • Convenient to the airport

  • Reliable for families

  • Clean and comfortable

  • A smart use of points or free night certificates

  • Perfect for an arrival night before Sequoia or Yosemite

Would I stay here again? Absolutely — especially for a one‑night stop before heading into the parks.
