Cloudland Resort Review: Hilton’s New Luxury Mountain Escape in Georgia
Cloudland Resort Review
Cloudland Resort is Hilton’s newest luxury mountain property, perched high on Lookout Mountain in northwest Georgia. With sweeping valley views, upscale dining, and generous Hilton Diamond perks, it’s quickly become one of our favorite weekend escapes from Nashville. After two stays—one right after opening and one during peak season—we’ve now experienced Cloudland both quiet and buzzing, and this review covers everything you need to know before booking.

Where Is Cloudland Resort?
Cloudland Resort sits on Lookout Mountain in northwest Georgia, about:
40 minutes from Chattanooga
2 hours from Atlanta
2.5 hours from Nashville (which is why it lives in my Tennessee guide for now!)
If you’re planning a Tennessee or Georgia getaway, this pairs perfectly with my Beginner Travel Hacking Guide.
The resort is literally in the clouds. One minute you’re staring into a foggy white sky, and the next you’re looking out over a dramatic valley. It’s peaceful, moody, and incredibly scenic.
Why We Chose Cloudland for Our Hilton Stay
I first found Cloudland while searching for a way to use our Hilton American Express Aspire Resort Credit. If you’re new to Hilton points or want to learn how we book luxury hotels for almost nothing, check out:
Our first visit was quiet—almost serene. This time, the resort was lively with families enjoying the pool, patios, and mountain air. Both vibes were wonderful in their own way.
Using the Hilton Aspire Resort Credit at Cloudland
Cloudland is a Hilton Resort, which means the Aspire Card’s $200 Resort Credit works here. We paired it with a Free Night Certificate, making this a luxury stay for very little out-of-pocket cost.
We used our credit at Auld Alliance, the resort’s fine dining restaurant. Our meal included:
Smoked pork chop (me)
Filet mignon (my husband)
Fries + mushrooms
Beer + sparkling water
With tip, the bill came to almost $200—so the credit covered nearly everything.
If you prefer something more casual, Croft Restaurant is also onsite.

What I Packed for Cloudland
Away Featherlight Overnight
Athleta leggings (great for mountain mornings)
Quince cashmere wrap (perfect for chilly patios)
Cabana Life sun shirt (if you’re using the pool)
Away Featherlight Overnight (lightweight + durable)
Andie Bath Suit (tummy control that really works)
Cloudland Resort Rooms: Mountain Views & Cozy Design
As Hilton Diamond members, we were automatically upgraded to a mountain-view room, and the view did not disappoint.
The room itself is:
Dark and cozy (my favorite for sleeping in)
Beautifully decorated with warm, modern mountain touches
Quiet and relaxing
We slept incredibly well—maybe because our cats weren’t waking us up at 5 a.m., or maybe because the room is just that peaceful.
Hilton Diamond Benefits at Cloudland
Cloudland treats Hilton elites well. During our stay, we received:
Automatic room upgrade
Manager’s Reception with complimentary wine, beer, and mint juleps
Daily food & beverage credit (varies by booking)
Priority dining availability
The Manager’s Reception is held from 5:00–7:00 PM behind the front desk. We enjoyed a glass of cabernet before dinner and loved the relaxed atmosphere.
Dining at Cloudland: Auld Alliance & Croft
Auld Alliance (Fine Dining)
We booked our reservation about 10 days in advance and the only options were 5:00 PM or 8:30 PM, so plan ahead—this restaurant fills up.
Our table overlooked the mountains, and the service was exceptional. When I mentioned we were celebrating my birthday, our server surprised us with a complimentary chocolate dessert: a rich mousse topped with chocolate ice cream and layered textures. It was decadent and absolutely shareable.
Croft Restaurant (Casual)
If you want something more relaxed, Croft offers approachable dishes in a cozy setting. It’s great for families or a quick bite.
