Le Petit Chef on Celebrity Cruises: Full Review and Menu

Le Petite Chef Celebrity Cruises The Musical

If you’ve cruised Celebrity before, you probably already know about La Petit Chef — the tiny animated French chef who dances, chops, sautés, and sings his way across your dinner plate. It’s one of Celebrity’s most charming specialty dining experiences, and on our recent sailing, we ended up doing the brand new Menu the Musical.

And honestly? It turned into one of our favorite memories of the entire cruise.

☀️ It All Started at Breakfast…

Fab 5 in the Bahamas

Picture this: five of us at breakfast, laughing, eating, telling stories, and generally being those people who are having way too much fun before 9 AM. We were mid‑bite when a staff member walked over and asked:

“Have you ever done Le Petite Chef?”

Three of us had. Two hadn’t. We told him we loved it — and that’s when he leaned in with the kind of grin that only means something good is coming.

He offered us a last‑minute special for that night’s show.

We didn’t even hesitate. We said yes on the spot.

And let me be clear: It would have been worth full price. The special was just the cherry on top of an already perfect morning.

🎭 Le Petit Chef: The Musical — Brand New & Absolutely Adorable

Celebrity has quietly rolled out a brand‑new version of Le Petit Chef called The Musical, and it is precious. This one is a full animated musical with singing and a tiny female chef!

What’s new:

  • A completely updated storyline

  • Modern, crisp animations

  • Better pacing between courses

  • A brand‑new menu themed to the musical

🍽️ Course‑by‑Course: What We Ate (And Why We Loved Every Bite)

One of my favorite parts of Le Petite Chef is that the food isn’t just “good for a themed dinner.” It’s genuinely delicious — and on this night, every single course delivered.

Here’s exactly what the five of us enjoyed:

🥗 Course 1: Tomato Burrata — Shockingly Amazing

Tomato Burrata

We started with a tomato burrata that made the whole table go quiet for a second. And listen… I don’t love tomatoes. I’m the person who usually pushes them to the side and lets my besties claim them like seagulls at a beach picnic.

But not this time.

I cleaned my plate. I’m pretty sure the table was waiting for my tomatoes, but I didn’t leave a single one behind. The burrata was creamy, the tomatoes were sweet and perfectly seasoned, and the whole dish was just chef’s kiss.

If you’re a foodie like me, you’ll love my Holland America Dive‑In Gouda Burger review — still one of my favorite cruise bites ever.

🍲 Course 2: Sunchoke Soup — The Star of the Show

Sunchoke Soup

Next came the sunchoke soup, and I’m not exaggerating when I say:

It might be the best soup we’ve ever had.

All five of us took one spoonful, looked at each other, and had the exact same reaction — wide eyes, stunned silence, then a chorus of “Oh my gosh.” It was velvety, rich, and perfectly balanced. The kind of dish you keep thinking about days later. Yes, we are still sending texts about this one.

🥩 Course 3: Filet Mignon — Cooked Perfectly

Filet Mignon Le petite Chef

The entrée was a filet mignon, cooked exactly the way filet should be — tender, flavorful, and melt‑in‑your‑mouth perfect. The animation synced beautifully with the plating, and the pacing between courses was spot‑on.

🎉 A Surprise Between Courses: Birthday Cupcake

Between the filet and dessert, the staff surprised me with a birthday cupcake — which was so sweet and thoughtful. It was delicious… but it also meant I didn’t have room for my full dessert.

Luckily, the rest of the table did.

🍰 Course 4: Dessert — Lollipop

Lollipop THe Musical Le Petite chef

Even though I only managed a few bites, everyone else loved the dessert. It tied into the animation beautifully and was the perfect ending to a night full of laughter, surprises, and genuinely fantastic food.

We all left happy, full, and already talking about how we’d do it again.

These are the 10 cruise essentialsI never sail without — practical, affordable, and guaranteed to make your trip easier.

🍽️ La Petit Chef Menus: The Musical vs. The Classic Menu

One thing that makes La Petite Chef so fun is that there are actually two different menus onboard — and you can choose the one that fits your mood. On our sailing, the menu that matched the animated storyline was called The Musical Menu, and the alternate menu was the Classic Menu, which you can pick and choose from.

Here’s exactly what was offered on our night.

🎭 The Musical Menu (Matches the Show)

This is the menu that syncs with the animation — each course appears right as the tiny chef finishes cooking on your plate. It’s adorable, theatrical, and honestly one of the most charming dining experiences at sea.

The Rule

Lasagna and Pea Salad A playful, comforting starter that kicks off the storyline.

The Spark

Pan‑Seared Snapper Light, flavorful, and beautifully timed with the animation.

The Fire

Duck à l’Orange Rich, classic, and a standout entrée for anyone who loves duck.

The Rise

Lollipop Dessert This ties into the animation perfectly — even though I only managed a few bites, everyone else at the table loved it.

🍽️ The Classic Menu (Pick & Choose)

If you prefer more flexibility — or simply want different dishes — you can choose the Classic Menu instead. This menu doesn’t sync with the animation, but the food is just as delicious.

This is the menu I ordered from, and every dish I tried was fantastic.

le petite chef the other menu

Starter

Marinated Tomato Salad Fresh, bright, and a great start to the meal.

Soup

Sunchoke Velouté Velvety, rich, and honestly one of the best soups I’ve had at sea or anywhere!

Entrée

Grilled Filet Mignon Perfectly cooked, tender, and beautifully plated.

Dessert

Matcha Tea Mont Blanc Light, earthy, and a lovely finish — especially if you enjoy matcha.

💵 La Petit Chef Pricing on Celebrity Cruises

La Petite Chef is typically priced around 60 per person, depending on the ship and sailing. On our cruise, we were offered a last‑minute special, but even at full price, it’s one of the most unique dining experiences at sea.

🎟️ Was It Worth It? Absolutely.

Even without the special we were offered, La Petite Chef is one of the most unique dining experiences at sea. It’s dinner and a show, and the new Musical version plus the classic menu gives guests two totally different experiences to choose from.

Why it’s worth booking:

  • It’s fun, charming, and unlike anything else onboard

  • The food is genuinely delicious

  • The animations are adorable

  • It’s perfect for families, couples, and friend groups

  • It makes for great photos and videos
