Virgin Voyages Spa: Is Redemption Worth the Splurge?

Virgin Voyages Spa

On my most recent sailing on the Resilient Lady, I booked a spa day at Redemption—and it was worth it. Here’s what I experienced, what I paid, and how you can make the most of it (even if you’re cruising on a budget).

What Is Redemption Spa?

Redemption Spa is Virgin Voyages’ full-service spa, available on all their ships. It’s sleek, moody, and surprisingly serene—think marble hammam benches, a Himalayan salt room, cold plunge pools, and a mud room for detox masks. You can book massages, facials, wraps, or access the Thermal Suite for a few hours of relaxation. I didn’t do the thermal spa on my most recent sailing, but I have in the past, and it is amazing! My husband didn’t like the idea of spending 3 hours in there on our most recent sailing, so we opted for massages instead. I know tough life!

Atmosphere

The spa feels like stepping into a chic underwater sanctuary—dim lighting, glowing accents, and a soothing soundtrack that instantly melts away the bustle of the ship. It’s modern yet tranquil, with that signature Virgin flair. I instantly felt more relaxed when I walked through the door. I was so excited when my husband agreed to get massages on our most recent Virgin voyage.

What I Paid (and How I Saved)

On my most recent sailing, I booked a massage and facial thanks to a port day cruise special. I then used my sailor loot to cover the cost. Not familiar with Sailor Loot? It’s Virgin Voyages Onboard credit. Learn more about sailor loot -> Virgin Voyages Sailor Loot. The total for the massage and facial (75 mins) was $229; gratuities are included in the price.

The Experience

  • Massage: My therapist tailored the pressure perfectly, easing out knots from travel and leaving me deeply relaxed.

  • Facial: Customized to my skin type, the facial included gentle exfoliation, hydrating masks, and a cooling finish. My skin felt refreshed, plump, and glowing afterwards. I walked out feeling like a new woman.

Final Thoughts

Redemption Spa lives up to its name. Between the attentive staff, high‑quality products, and serene setting, this facial/massage combo was the perfect reset mid‑voyage. Whether you’re a seasoned cruiser or a first‑timer, it’s a must‑do splurge that elevates the Virgin Voyages experience. Unlike other cruise lines, there was no hard sell at the end. Gratuity was included, so we walked off relaxed and ready to take on the rest of our day of lounging around the ship.

Travel Hack Mom Tips

  • Book early—spa slots fill up fast, especially on sea days.

  • Port Day Specials - Our cruise had a schedule change due to weather, and we missed our Honduras port. We ended up with a rainy day in Cozumel. We made the most of it with a port day special in the spa. It was sent out as a notification on the app.

  • Use sailor loot if you have it. It’s a great way to treat yourself without spending cash. Thanks to a fantastic deal on our Resilient Lady cruise, we had a lot of Sailor Loot. It was fun treating ourselves to massages

Final Thoughts

Redemption Spa isn’t just a splurge—it’s a smart way to recharge mid-cruise. If you’re cruising Virgin Voyages and want a break from the party, this is your sanctuary. And if you’re travel hacking your way onboard, don’t forget: perks aren’t just about flights and hotels—they’re about how you feel while you travel.
