Toronto Walking Tour - Beer & History Adventure

During our recent trip to Toronto, I spent a considerable amount of time trying to determine the best ways to explore the city. We only had 3 full days in the city. I thought the perfect way to start our adventures would be to pick a Toronto Walking Tour. This ended up being the best decision. I visited Viator and began exploring the various tours. One that caught my eye was the Beer Makes History Better tour. Brandon, my husband, loves history and beer. This sounded perfect! If you are looking for a fun way to start your adventure, I highly recommend you check out Tour Guys. I would gladly do any of their tours the next time I am in Toronto.

We met our tour guide, Jason, outside the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. We introduced ourselves and discussed our preferences for various types of beer, etc. Then we headed out on the best adventure of Toronto. I have been on a lot of tours in my travels, and Jason was the best tour guide I have ever had. I could tell he was getting to know us and tailoring the tour as we walked to make sure we got the most out of it.

Best tour guide ever - Jason

First stop

Our first stop was a C’est What? The inside bar was closed when we arrived. But never fear! Jason said they had a beer garden in the back. We found a table in the shade and selected our first beer. I love that this tour has lots of flexibility. We were able to choose our beer. I chose a local Hefeweizen, and my husband had the cider. As we enjoyed our beers on this gorgeous day we discussed Toronto. It was a fun history lesson. Even though we had just met Jason 15 minutes before we felt like old friends. He was engaging and passionate about Toronto.

We walked across the city toward the Distillery District learning as we went. This was not a boring history lesson. It was engaging and fun. Next up was a sake bar. I had never really tried sake and was anxious to try. Not only did I try an amazing sake. I learned how to drink sake. You sip Sake like white wine. You experience it.

Our Sake

After we finished our Sake, we explored a little of the distillery district. Our final beers were at Old Flame Brewing Company. Here we each had a flight of beers. The beers’ names are based on Old Flames: Blonde, Burnette, etc.

Toronto Walking

After this, we said goodbye to our new friend Jason. We both agreed this was the best tour we had in a long time. We both wish we had more time in Toronto so we could have explored another area with Jason or his company, Tour Guides. Our tour lasted around 3 hours, and it flew by. I wish we had more time in Toronto, I would have booked another tour with this company. It was that good! You can follow Tour Guys on Facebook here. I did!
