On my recent sailing of the Carnival Conquest, we visited Princess Cays Private Island. If you're dreaming of turquoise waters, powdery white sand, and a day of pure tropical bliss, Princess Cays delivers exactly that—and more. Nestled on the southern tip of Eleuthera in the Bahamas, this private resort is exclusively for Princess Cruises guests, making it one of the most relaxing and crowd-free beach destinations in the Caribbean. This was my second visit to Princess Cays learn more about my first visit here. I enjoyed it so much I wanted to return. This is totally my vibe.
What Makes Princess Cays Special?
Princess Cays isn’t just a beach stop—it’s a full-on island experience. From the moment you step off the tender boat, you’re greeted by swaying palm trees, colorful cabanas, and the scent of grilled jerk chicken wafting from the BBQ pavilion. The only way one can get here is on the following cruise lines: Carnival, Holland America, and Princess. The crystal-clear water is perfect for snorkeling or just floating the day away. We even saw a stingray on the most recent visit.

Best Things to Do at Princess Cays
I’ll be honest, my favorite thing to do on Princess Cays is to bring my trusty float, put on my water shoes, and enjoy a day in the water. Parts of Princess Cays can be rocky, so I think water shoes are a must. If your feet aren’t sensitive like mine, you can go without them. Pictured below is what I did the whole time on the island. Don’t forget your sunscreen!

Free Food on Princess Cays
One of the best perks of visiting Princess Cays is the complimentary beachside BBQ lunch provided by Princess Cruises. As part of your cruise experience, you’ll enjoy a delicious spread of grilled favorites like burgers, hot dogs, jerk chicken, and tropical sides—all served in an open-air pavilion steps from the sand. No need to bring your wallet—this meal is included with your cruise fare, making it easy to fuel up between snorkeling sessions or lounging on your float. Vegetarian options and refreshing drinks are also available, so everyone can enjoy a satisfying bite while soaking up the island vibes.
Final Thoughts
Princess Cays is the kind of place that makes you forget your phone, your inbox, and your to-do list. It’s just you, the sea, and a whole lot of sunshine. Whether you're cruising solo, with family, or on a romantic getaway, this island is a slice of paradise you’ll be talking about long after you’ve sailed away. I love that I can spend a wonderful day here without spending a dime while on the island.
