Timing & Arrival
Arrive early—but not too early. Most cruise lines assign boarding windows. Aim to arrive 30–60 minutes before your slot to avoid long lines.
Avoid peak times: Midday (11 am–1 pm) is busiest. Early morning or late afternoon can be calmer.
Parking & Transportation
On-site parking is available at each terminal for around $22–25/day. It’s secure and walkable.
Ride-share drop-offs are smooth—confirm your terminal before arrival. There will be signs if you are not sure.
Public transit isn’t ideal for luggage-heavy travelers, but shuttles from hotels and airports are plentiful. I have used public transport from the airport it involves a lot of changes but I usually carry only a backpack.
Luggage & Check-In
Tag your bags with cruise line-provided labels before arrival.
Porters are available curbside—tips are appreciated ($1–$ 2 per bag).
Keep essentials in a carry-on: passports, meds, swimsuits, and embarkation documents.
Security & Documents
Security is airport-style: metal detectors, ID checks, and bag scans.
Have your passport, boarding pass, and health documents ready. Digital versions are often accepted, but paper backups are smart. I cannot tell you how many times I have gotten in line for the app to stop randomly working.

Family-Friendly Tips
Strollers and wheelchairs are allowed through security.
Download cruise apps before arrival—they help with check-in, onboard schedules, and Wi-Fi setup.
Terminal Tips
Know your terminal: Carnival uses Terminal F, Royal Caribbean uses Terminal A, Virgin Voyages sails from Terminal V.
Signage is clear, but staff are helpful if you’re unsure.
