When I cruise out of Miami or Ft Lauderdale, I book whatever airport is cheaper. They are very close. On my last cruise, I was meeting a friend in Florida for the cruise. The Ft Lauderdale airport is much easier to navigate than Miami, so I had her meet me there.

Shuttle Options to Cruise Ports (FLL & Miami)
Cruising out of Miami here are your options -Fort Lauderdale to Miami Cruise Port: Best Options
Hyatt Place Dania Beach offers a complimentary airport shuttle from Fort Lauderdale (FLL). Simply call the hotel upon arrival, and they’ll direct you to the designated pickup spot. Once you check in, you can use the iPad in the lobby to schedule cruise port transportation. The shuttle serves both Port Everglades (Ft. Lauderdale) and the Miami cruise terminal. The Ft. Lauderdale shuttle costs $16 per person, while the Miami option is priced at $160 for up to four passengers. For our Miami cruise, we found Uber or Lyft to be a more budget-friendly alternative.
I did not schedule an Uber or Lyft in advance. We just booked it as we were heading down to the hotel lobby, and we only had to wait a few minutes.

Breakfast at Hyatt Place Dania Beach
Breakfast is included at Hyatt Place Dania Beach, and it’s exactly what most travelers want before a cruise or early flight: quick, reliable, and easy. It’s not fancy, but it’s consistent — and perfect when you’re trying to get out the door and head to Port Everglades.
What’s Typically Served
Hyatt Place breakfast usually includes a mix of hot and cold items such as:
Scrambled eggs
Breakfast potatoes
Sausage or bacon
Oatmeal with toppings
Fresh fruit
Yogurt
Cereal
Toast, bagels, and pastries
Coffee, tea, and juice
It’s a solid spread for families, especially if you’re trying to feed kids before a long travel day.
Breakfast Hours
Most Hyatt Place locations serve breakfast from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM on weekdays and 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM on weekends. Hours can vary slightly, so I always recommend checking at check‑in if you’re catching an early shuttle or Uber.
Why It Works Well for Cruisers
You can eat early and head straight to the port
Plenty of grab‑and‑go options
Saves money before an already expensive cruise day
Easy for families with picky eaters
Travel Hack
If you’re using Hyatt points to book your stay, breakfast is still included — which makes this hotel an even better value compared to many Fort Lauderdale pre‑cruise options.
Nearby Restaurants and Essentials
The hotel is located near many restaurants and shops. There is a Panda Express in the parking lot. We walked to Sprouts to pick up the few items we forgot for our trip.
Is Hyatt Place Dania Beach Worth It Before a Cruise? (My Verdict)
The Hyatt Place Dania Beach is a great place to stay pre- or post-cruise. I have stayed there a few times, and it is always clean. The staff is helpful. The hotel offers a free breakfast in the morning. I have stayed here with both my 17 year old son we love the layout of Hyatt Place rooms when we travel together. I also stayed here with a friend pre-cruise and she agreed it was a great location.
