A calm‑cruise girl’s guide to the Eurodam: food, vibes, spa secrets, and what I’d do again.
Looking for an honest Holland America Eurodam review? This was my second time sailing Holland America — a short 4‑day itinerary that was supposed to include Half Moon Cay and Bimini but ended up rerouted to Nassau thanks to weather. Even with the itinerary shuffle, the Eurodam delivered exactly what I wanted: a relaxing, grown‑up cruise with great food and cozy vibes.
If you’re new to Holland America, start with my HAL Hub — it breaks down ships, tips, ports, and strategy in one place.

⭐ Cruise Itinerary & Cabin Choice
Original plan: Half Moon Cay + Bimini
Final itinerary: Overnight in Nassau + return to Fort Lauderdale
We booked an unobstructed ocean view stateroom — my favorite budget‑friendly sweet spot. You get natural light, a real view, and a calmer vibe than an inside cabin without paying veranda prices.
If you’re choosing a cabin on any HAL ship, my HAL Beginner Tips guide breaks down cabin types, upgrade bids, and what’s worth paying for.
👉 Cabin tip: Holland America often offers upgrade bids. We skipped the upgrade and put that money toward thermal spa passes, which ended up being the better splurge.

⭐ Why I Love the Holland America Eurodam
1. Breakfast Buffet Crepes & Omelets
Holland America’s breakfast buffet is elite. They make fresh, made‑to‑order crepes — my daily ritual was a strawberry crepe with coffee. My parents swear by the omelet station.
If you’re a foodie, check out my HAL Food Guide for everything from specialty dining to buffet secrets.
2. The Dueling Piano Bar
A hidden gem on the Eurodam. Expect sing‑along classics, a fun crowd, and a packed room. I spent a lot of time here — it’s one of those “just one more song” situations.
3. The Thermal Spa Package
We pre‑booked the thermal spa package for $118 (4‑day cruise). My mom booked late and paid $188, so yes — booking early matters. Even with the itinerary change making the spa busier, the heated loungers and hydrotherapy pool were worth every penny.
If you’re a spa person, my HAL Spa Guidebreaks down pricing, passes, and what to book early.
👉 I always book cruises and flights with a travel rewards card that earns points on travel purchases and includes trip protection. I personally love the Chase Sapphire Cards.
⭐ Nassau Port vs. Staying Onboard
Nassau isn’t my favorite port, so we treated the Eurodam as our resort — spa time, piano bar, quiet lounges, and long conversations with my parents and friend. Honestly? It was perfect.
If you’re planning a HAL itinerary, my Port Guides cover the best ports, excursions, and what to skip.
👉 Cruise hack: If you’re not excited about a port, stay onboard. You’ll have the ship almost to yourself.
