Best Nashville Hotels with Points & Miles – Luxury Stays

I was scrolling online the other day and saw a list from Travel & Leisure - the 5 best hotels Nashville. We live outside of Nashville, and thanks to points and miles, we have stayed at three of the five. Nashville can be an expensive city to visit, so here is how we used points, miles, and travel hacks to stay at these fabulous properties.

Thompson Nashville – Amex FHR Birthday Stay

We stayed at the Thompson Hotel earlier this year to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Thanks to our American Express Platinum card, we used the Fine Hotels and Resorts credit for a fun night out in the city. How this credit works: I book a room through the American Express Travel portal for a fine hotel and resort. I pay for the room with my American Express Platinum card, they reimburse me $200, and I get a ton of benefits. The room was $303 a night. After our credit, it was $103. We also received free breakfast and $100 food and beverage credit. We used our food and beverage credit at he restaurant on-site Marsh House. We quit buying presents for birthdays years ago, so this was an affordable way to celebrate my husband, which is cheaper than any gift I could think of buying him. Plus, who doesn’t like a night in a fancy hotel?

This was a fab stay. They even sent free chocolates and free prosecco to the room.

Grand Hyatt Nashville – Points Staycation

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt in December 2023. This was a point stay. I remember our cat Madam had passed away on Christmas Eve, and we were all devastated. I needed to get out of the house! We had just taken the family to San Diego a few weeks before, so we decided a staycation was in order. We found a room at the Grand Hyatt and used points not only for our room but to upgrade to club access. Nashville is one of the few places in the continental US that has a Club Lounge. Globalists get free access, but I am not a globalist. Not only did we have heavy appetizers and free drinks in the Club access lounge, but we also got an amazing free breakfast in the lounge. Everything about this stay was free. Free room, free dinner (yep, I am a cheap date), and free breakfast.

Our visit was at the end of December. This was a festive place to stay. Everything was decorated for winter including the pool!

1 Hotel Nashville – Bonaroo Weekend Redemption

We booked the 1 Hotel as a last-minute getaway. I was supposed to be on a cruise with all my best friends, and my flight got cancelled, and I could not make my trip. I was devastated. Luckily, I was able to use my American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts credit for 2024 to save my weekend. Hotel rooms in June are expensive in Nashville. However, we lucked up that it was Bonaroo weekend and there were several good options for us to stay downtown affordably. Our room was $386. We then got $200 back from the room. We charged everything to the room. We ended up getting $100 off our dinner, free breakfast, and they erased another charge (drinks at the bar) as an extra amenity.

This was a fabulous stay! They have fresh fruit by the elevators. The vibe here is super cool. The list of amenities we get for booking through American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts

Final Thoughts

I love that we can afford to stay at the nicest hotels in Nashville. Points and miles have brought my family so much joy. It’s why our family motto is No Point Left Behind. We love maximizing our travels or staycations with them.
